Infants

Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body. ~Elizabeth Stone

At Grow-in-Kids we completely understand the meaning of Elizabeth Stone’s quote.  Choosing Child Care for your child is one of the most important decisions you’ll make.  Infants need to be nurtured, they need to be loved, touched and played with.  They need to be talked to and listened to.  Their little bodies and brains need to be nurtured and we know just how to do that.

Floor time
When you enter our infant room, more than likely, you will find the caregiver on the floor playing with the babies.  During floor time, children learn the enjoyment of interacting with others.  Floor time creates a chance for the infants to have long dialogues, first without words and eventually with words.   We will follow your child's lead and play at whatever captures his or her interest, and we will do it in a way that will encourage your child’s developmental growth.

Crying
We do not believe in allowing an infant to cry.  Children, infants especially, need to develop positive relationships and infants that are left to cry are often insecure.  We will make every effort to meet each infant’s needs as quickly as possible.

Food
There is not any scheduling in the infant room.  Infants are fed when they are hungry (unless you specify something different).  We provide Parent Choice formula, rice cereal, food pureed in our kitchen or store bought baby food.  When your baby begins to eat table food, breakfast and lunch are served loosely around the breakfast and lunch hour.

Diapers
Diapers are checked hourly.  We request that you supply the diapers and wipes.

Sleeping
Your infant will only be put to bed on their backs.  Naps again are on demand or according to the schedule that you provide.

Become our Partner

The proper care of your sweet baby depends on your partnership with our caregivers.   To be successful you will need to communicate your wishes for your infant’s care and we will do our best to provide the care that you expect.   If at anytime you feel that we have not met your expectations please let Dawn or Pam know.  All concerns are valued and we do not want you to go to work feeling like your baby is receiving any less then the best care.
